FAQs Helpful for the users of 'SuperFold' Folding Machines: |
Under what conditions is manual operation suitable?
Manual operation is useful under following conditions
paper is jammed
settings are to be adjusted |
| |
Why is the hinged table adjustment provided for feed tray?
Papers vary in size, weight and smoothness. art papers and coated papers tend to slide into the feed roller. this can be avoided by keeping the tray inclination low. Rough papers should slide themselves down into the feed roller, hence tray inclination should be higher. The hinged table adjustment allows these settings. |
| |
Why is the first fold tray the longest?
Length of first fold is the largest. To facilitate this, the length of first fold is larger than other trays. |

Why is FDC and Conveyor belt arrangement needed for a cross folding machine?
In case of cross folding machines, both the machines have to operate at the same speed. Thus it is essential to feed the folded papers from first machine to second machine at the machine speed. FDC and roller conveyor are driven by the motors of the folding machines they are connected to, hence it is possible to synchronise the speed. Secondly the second machine is placed at right angles to the first machine. Hence the folded paper has to be rotated by 90° before being fed to the second folding machine FDC and rollers conveyor are placed at right angles to each other to achieve this. |

How many papers can I feed at a time? Is it required to stop the machine when one stack is exhausted?
The number of papers you can feed to a machine at a time decided by the size and thickness of the paper. It is not required to stop the machine when first stack is exhausted. Another stack can be placed below the first stack and machine can run continuously. |
| |
Can you feed papers smaller 70 × 110 mm, given in the specifications?
Yes! With some special attachments it is possible to feed papers up to 55 mm × 110 mm. However this is an optional attachment. |
| |
Why are more than one papers are fed, even if settings are correct?
There are two reasons of this problem.
- If the cutting machine’s knife is not sharp, the papers are not properly, hence are not fed correctly.
- If shuffling of the papers is not done correctly before feeding. This problem is frequent with lower grammage papers ( 47 to 54 gsm)
|
| |
Why shuffling is necessary?
Shuffling separates papers from each other. Hence it becomes easier for the feeder to remove single paper from the stack. |
| |
Why is speed regulation required?
Paper feeding speed has to vary depending on paper type and size, hence speed regulation is essential. For example, coated papers and art papers less speed than rough papers. |
| |
Can I feed pre-folded papers to the machine?
No! The machine is designed for plane paper sheets only! |

I have a cross folding machine. I want to use it for parallel folding. How should proceed?
Roller conveyor is connected to the second machine, it need not be removed
- Separate the second folding machine.
- 2. Remove the four star knobs fitted to FDC from inside. Refer to the FDC installation procedure in part IV of this manual. Remove the FDC
- Remove the stacker from the second machine
- Mount it in the first machine. Refer to the vertical stacker installation procedure in part III of this manual.
- For cross folding, stacker belts are adjusted to one side. Adjust the position of the belts corresponding to gripper rollers, for parallel folding.
